Birthday Ham!

I cooked Jan a ham for her birthday today. Had the house smelling mouth-watering good for three hours. I glazed it with maple syrup and brown sugar. It came out pretty well... a little burnt around the edges, but the inside was just right. It tasted SO good. I made a pig of myself (you are what you eat, right?)

Yum! :licklips:

We have brownies and ice cream for desert. :choclate:

And sake... :headbang:

Weird. Dinner at the father-in-law's last night was ham. He, however, didn't glaze it with anything.

Next time, I'm comin' to your house.

I had a ham at my buddy Todds place last monday ... Its was edge blacked just like you like it, Q. That boy can cook.

Anyone know of any creative ways to serve ham? It's two days later, and we still have about half of it left. :p

I'm not really big on pineapples, although I hear that pineapple juice is good for some things... I wouldn't know how to go about making the pizza dough either. Besides being the bread winner, Jan's also the bread maker around here. We have a bread machine, so I could probably learn easily enough, but then I wouldn't have a good excuse to make her do it. :p

i only did it once... i think it was as simple as setting the thing to "don't cook it just bash it about a bit" mode and throwing in bread type ingredients. bread makers rock :)

Ham & cabbage, bean soup, goes well in potato salad, Sliced and fried in butter for breakfast or hot sandwiches....

If I can find one with that setting...I'm buying it on the spot :D

I thought about it, but I decided to assemble his gas grill for him instead. Too damned nice for my own good sometimes...
