What is your uptime record?

How long have you run Windows stably before needing to reboot? I have never kept track but just the other day I checked and was astounded to see how many days I had been up without reboot. As far as I know this is my personal record. Thanks to XP I can be up a long time and remain stable whereas with 98 I could rarely go a day without a crash or something. Here is my record to date:

I've gone two months with Windows 2000 before, and if I remember right, the reboot was required for either some software or a windows update or something, not because of any system instability.

I'd have to guess around a week. But in all fairness to the OS it's usually my own damn fault.

I pretty much turn off my windows PC everyday. Now, my Linux server has been on for three or four months at a time. Usually it's power outages or upgrades that make me shut it down.

Well. I think I've left my Win2000 machine on for like 3-5 days straight. But I usually shut it down all the time so the other members of the household can login to their profiles instead of mine.

My webserver on the other hand went about 29 days before I rebooted it. But, I only reboot the webserver after i update some pages. It was down until recently because my router was being weird on me.

Before my hard drive started to shit itself, about a week, now it's like 48 hours before I get the Blue screen of death.

Then another few hours trying to reboot the shitter.

I've a Nt4 station under my desk that's been up for about 3 years.

Woah!!!!
Want to take a screen shot for us to see?

AFAIK, a healthy and stable OS should be rebooted once every year, since some resources might not get freed as time goes on.

Not really. It's off the network. I mostly use it for personal letters, training and testing stuff that's not allowed by the net admin. And, of course, for phone support.

15 weeks on Win 98? You must not do anything stressful at all with it.

Win98 is in fact stable (but not robust) as long as you don't use unstable software with it.

Distributed computing, mostly. Stressful? Oh, yes it is. But it didn't get a whole lot of opened/closed programs on a daily basis.

Mine ends after this post. Things are starting to destabilize but that's becaus I have been dooig the web. photo edidting, file sharing, FTP server numerous games I have played. Time to tak a nappy lil computer!
