The saddest f***ing song ever

"Every Friday Afternoon" ... if you are a divorced parent, or a child of divorced parents (Tonks, Red, and I are BOTH), listen at your own risk...it will rip your fucking heart out...I had to leave the room so I wouldn't be crying in front of my mechanics

Lonestar - Already there, used to tear me apart when I was on the road. Butterfly Kisses didn't make any friends with me either.

Inconsiderate fucking musicians.

I know that there is a song thread, but this was just too much

Artist/Band: Morgan Craig
Lyrics for Song: Every Friday Afternoon
Lyrics for Album: I Love It
(Neal Coty/Jimmy Melton)

She called me up this mornin',
Said: "There's somethin' you should know.
"There's a job back home in Boston,
"And I think I'm gonna go.
"My parents are in Cambridge,
"An' I've got some old friends there.
"An' I know you think this isn't fair."

And the tears started fallin',
There was nothin' I could say.
Even if I fight it, someone loses either way.
Whoa, it might as well be China,
Or the dark side of the moon.
There's no way I can be there every Friday afternoon.

I have him every weekend,
He's got his own room here.
He's all that's kept me goin',
These last three years.
There's little league in Boston,
Oh, but who will coach his team.
How's he gonna grow up without me.

And the tears started fallin',
There was nothin' I could say.
Even if I fight it, someone loses either way.
Whoa, it might as well be China,
Or the dark side of the moon.
There's no way I can be there every Friday afternoon.

What about Christmas?
If I can't get off of work?
What about his birthday?
If I'm not there, he'll be hurt.
And I know the day is comin',
When she'll find someone new,
But he'll never love him like I do.

Well, it might as well be China,
Or the dark side of the moon.
There's no way I can be there every Friday afternoon.

You're feeling share-y today I see. I remember you making me promise to never tell anyone that.

"Holes in the floor of heaven" makes me cry

and I haven't listen to "Go rest high on that mountain" since it was played at my dad's funeral

"Holes in the floor of heaven" makes me cry

One day shy of eight years old
When grandma passed away
I was a broken hearted little boy
Blowing out that birthday cake
How I cried when the sky let go
With a cold lonesome rain
My mom smiled, said "Don't be sad child.
Grandma's watching you today."

Chorus
Cause there are holes in the floor of Heaven
And her tears are pouring down
That's how you know she's watching
Wishing she could be here now
Sometimes if you're lonely
Just remember she can see
There are holes in the floor of Heaven
And she's watching over you and me

Seasons come and seasons go
Nothing stays the same
I grew up, fell in love
Met a girl who took my name
Year by year we made a life
In this sleepy little town
I thought we'd grow old together
Lord, I sure do miss her now

Chorus
Cause there's holes in the floor of Heaven
And her tears are pouring down
That's how I know she's watching
Wishing she could be here now
Sometimes when I'm lonely
I just remember she can see
There are holes in the floor of Heaven
And she's watching over you and me

Well my little girl is 23
I walk her down the aisle
It's a shame her Mom can't be here now
To see her lovely smile
They throw the rice, I catch her eye
As the rain starts coming down
She takes my hand says, "Daddy don't be sad
Cause' I know Mama's watching now."

Chorus
There are holes in the floor of Heaven
And her tears are pouring down
That's how I know she's watching
Wishing she could be here now
Sometimes when I'm lonely
I just remember she can see
There are holes in the floor of Heaven
And she's watching over you and me.

On that note...while I was walking home from the grocery store today it rained :)

I also rained the day of my senior prom in highschool...

Beth.

*runs away*

I always cry to You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'. Weird, I know, but there it is.

"Go Rest High..." gives me the shivers, too...also, I can't listen to "He'll Never Be Like You" very easily, because my (first) stepfather died when I was in jr. high

I'm trying to remember if I've any cold beer in the fridge. All I've got at home is a quebec microbrewery's attempt as a scots ale, and I can't remember if I put any in the fridge.

Call the wife, ask her to put a couple in for you.

Then stop on the way home and pick her up some flowers as a thank you :)
