Sales have slowed down at Radio Shack now that the holidays are over. This likely means my paychecks will slow down as well. Thankfully I have some money to fall back on to pick up the slack for the next few months.
School starts January 19. I'm taking two classes this semester. Once I'm done with that, I will have completed 126 units out of the 124 I need for graduation, so I'll have Cuesta College mail the transcript to Fresno State and then I'll apply for graduation.
I might have finally gotten a message through to Brandi. See, I'd loaned her some money to help with Christmas, with the promise of being paid back the first. This, even though she still owed me $75 to cover her half of the divorce paperwork. I was pretty sure I'd never see the money again, but I wanted to help for the holidays and give her a chance to prove she changed. Well, as expected, the money never came, and tonight she asked me for another $100 to help with her power bill. She got really pissed off when I told her no and said I wasn't going to continue to support her. I'd venture to guess her telling me that she hopes I get AIDs or Herpes or another STD is pretty close to a new low, even for her... and her "Aaron Crutchfield is an asshole...." yahoo status isn't too impressive either. So it looks like she's learned absolutely nothing... although her wedding is supposedly postponed until May now.
On a more productive and positive note, I met a new girl that I think has some real potential. Her name is Annie. I mentioned her elsewhere on the board. I went to the King City Denny's again and we had dinner and talked some more. There seems to be something there, and she said she's interested in seeing what's there... so hopefully we'll have a lot more chances to go on some dates and stuff.
I was showing her all the random crap in my car's trunk (who else keeps an ISA SoundBlaster 16 in the trunk?) and I noticed the outside of the fire extinguisher was wet. So was the towel under it, some random receipts, the leather case for the knife sharpening stone, and a few other things. It didn't look like extinguisher residue (especially since the green dot was still raised, meaning it had a good charge, and the pin was still in it), so I think the trunk's weatherstripping has a leak. It would make sense, because the area's seen a lot of rain lately. Besides, I've heard that some Chrysler products have trouble with leaking trunks. So I'll have to do something about that at some point. I still need to change the timing belt and replace the windshield.
The first holiday season after the death of Grandpapa went a lot better than expected. Grandmama still misses him a lot, which is to be expected after sleeping on the left side of the bed while the same person slept on the right pretty much every night for 62 years, but we're all coping pretty well, I think.
I got some life insurance payouts from it, and I've received all the money now. I'm looking at ways to invest it to make it grow as quick as possible because I want to buy a house fairly soon after I get my career established. I have no idea where my career will be established at, and what I have now to offer for a down payment would pay for probably between 1/3 and half the house in some areas, while it would be laughed out of the bank around here.
I finally, finally got my own domain name registered:
www.inkara1.com and I got a coppermine photo gallery too. Not much there yet though.
That's really about the extent of what's been going on with me.
Ooh, almost forgot... Fresno State's win over Virginia in the MPC Computers Bowl moved them up to #22 in both final polls. That means the 'Dogs finished the season ranked for the first time since 1992's win over USC in the Freedom Bowl. Go 'Dogs!
