New default posting options

Now in your Edit Options page, you can set defaults for all 5 checkboxes down at the bottom of new posting pages. (previously you could only change Email Notification and Return to Forum)

Speaking of the Edit Options page, if you get confused on an item, just hold your mouse over the item for a couple seconds. (it's called a tooltip)

That goes for many of the pages here, a lot of things here have tooltips. For instance, hover over my username in this post (over to the left, next to the online indicator light). Neat, huh?

Should I go for a "Make these options my defaults" checkbox next, so all you lazy bastiches (*cough* {bbusername}) can update the defaults without even going into your control panel? :D

Hint, hint...

i.e., if Sam were to quote me, that'd say (*cough* samcurry)

:D

nevermind.. just ran across it all in LL. I was too groggy to see through the Jedi mind trick. I hate that particular hack... it ends up doing 10 times as much evil as good.

You do lose the distinction of wether someone is being serious or not. We would probably think that something that was truly pointing at us was just another bulk name bomb.

Could run off some new members before they realize they aren't really being assaulted by numerous members that don't even know them.:blank:

You can now see a tooltip when viewing a username if it was done with the auto-username hack.

forget it, it's uninstalled. fucking christ, I try to make the board a little more fun and it ends up getting everyone's panties in a bunch.

It was funny for a bit ... but I do think that it did have the potential to alienate infrequent posters and noobs not in the know.

...as would so many other things on this board. If it wasn't used to insult, I don't think it would be an issue. We're getting so politically correct around here.:(

Yep, scary, isn't it?

I always felt it was more an element of petty self righteousness at times rather any kind of PC effect. The PC effect is just the rule base laid out by the hosting company.

I think most of the reactions come from people riding certain jokes just a little too damn far just to see how much of a rise they can get out others.
