How to piss off a liberal

i'd have thought resistance to tax would be a conservative speciality, rather than a lefty bugbear

Actually, ris, it depends upon the tax. In a nutshell, nobody wants to pay more for something they like, or use, on an on-going basis. Take cigarettes, for example. Most folks don't mind the tax, because it supposedly helps pay for medical costs associated with smoking. Try taxing 'junk food', and see what happens. ;)

i agree gato, no-one like paying tax on something don't like or use. i was using a gross generalisation in identifying that it is conservatives who normally want to pay less tax in general [keep what i earn thingumie], while the gross generalistion for liberals is they like tax and spend a bit more if it helps the disadvantaged [or the coffee drinker, obviously]

Since there seems to be a failure to see the liberal connection, I'll point it out...

Seattle is as far left as you can go outside the greater San Francisco area.

Yes flavio, conservatives drink coffee, just not this one.

Junk food is taxed here at 17.5%

Kill the politicians that did that injustice.

Thats right on track. Make the fat poor & the Dems work is done for them :rofl3:

So I guess by the logic used in this thread that a tax on fast food in New York would be "How to piss off a Conservative" -> tax their disgusting hamburgers :)
