I downloaded Spybot onto Christina's laptop and it found 108 separate items. After removing those, her computer was suddenly usable again. I was going to get her a RAM upgrade for Christmas but getting rid of the 108 items helped imminsely... which is good because 512MB should be enough for what she uses it for.

My boyfriends son is 23 and keeps going on the computer and looking at SMUT sites.

Tell your boyfriend to stop blaming his son for the porn, after all hes only keeping him around the house so he has someone to blame when you discover the porn. :sadhug:

Simply tell the son that the next time he infests your computer with mal-ware by surfing porn, you're going to permanently solve his sexual issues by chopping his nuts off. Do this while brandishing a large butcher knife, so he's sure to get the point.

Seriously, you want to do this kind of shit, do it on your machine, over your connection.

Ew I caught my stepdad looking at porn last night. I walked into the room to ask him something and he's oogling some chick banging an ugly guy. I coughed loudly and he hurried up and closed the window. Very awkward. And frightening.

Thanks a million to all! Downlaoded the spybot , was 1oo+ problems to fix -have the adaware thingy do that next-I'll go with the telling him I'll cut it off, and use his own computer for porn and the CD's rental though! Thanks again.

Oh Jeez will you listen?

#1. visiting naughty places without proper M$ security
updates and a good virus scanner (AVG) in place.

#2. spyware is the result of trojan Virus infection

#3. Extensive virus\spyware infection will damage
and compromise the OS to the point that a complete
reload is the only way to return the system to
secure operation.

Spyware scanning is the end, not the beginning of the cleanup process.
reload, M$ updates virus scanner in place occasional spyware scan,
practice safe surfin' sex, rinse repeat

Oh and advanced practices are to clean the run areas
of the registry and observe the processes section
of task manager for errant nasties

At the risk of sounding like an old fart, grow up. Surely you realize that the only reason you're here is because your mom and dad had hot, screaming monkey sex, right?

Your parents used to be cool. Then they had kids. ;)

How do you know the sex was of the "hot, screaming monkey" variety? :eek6:

How sure are you that he is 100% to blame? Often even after you think you have removed certain bugs they have homes in the reg somewhere and pop up again. If it doesn't seem to go away even after you make sure he doesn't use it you may just need to reformat and start clean.

To keep him off the computer a bios password may come in handy but it can easily be removed by unplugging the battery from the board. If it is a windows machine log in as admin. and delete any other accounts. Then create a new account, be sure both the newly created and admin. accounts are password protected, and only use the new account. If he needs to use it you log him in and supervise him. :swing:

:hmm: if I accidentally-ahem- interrupted somebody who acted as my father figure and/or somebody I looked up to with respect, ogling dirty porn, I would be a little disturbed also.

I don't think fluey is oblivious to the facts of life, but you do not casually see your dad doing that everyday and in the same way, you wouldn't bring it up casually over dinner.

Besides, I think looking up porn and having "hot, screaming monkey sex" are quite unrelated and shouldn't be confused
