This may be the end of the pussyfooting around. In a report I only half paid attention to, it seems as though either the Iraqi's or the US Marines have given the wimins & children XX hours to skeedattle. Men over 25 (I think they said) would be arrested. After the alotted time, Fallujah belongs to the military until such a time it's deemed safe.

This weekend may be the turning point.

Not until it's deemed safe but until after the vote. A decision i'm content with. I can't think of any single reason we should be wasting lives in Fallujah other than to progress the vote even if it is the most radical center in the nation.
 
Hopefully we won't lose anyone. Maybe they will just "level" about 3/4 of it, then cleanup.

Uhh ... so you think that killing will somehow bring justice? Sorry, that's what we push on 17 year olds to get them to join the marine corps not how we sway thinking peoples.
 
Who's trying to sway anyone? Thats how we honor those that have fought for a cause, we follow thru, we dont just give up and leave.

no, no, 32 YO opinion (today, right?).
 
NOw there's a drunken philosophical question. If someone lives in a time zone west of your location & has a birthday, must you wait for thier time zone to celebrate? Hex is a good example...Can't get much farther west than AK.

The only people west of his part of AK are the Hawaiian members. However, the westernmost point of AK is further west, and is so far to the west it's the easternmost point of the US.

My thought is no, you don't have to wait. I wouldn't. ;) Oh, and you can get a lot farther west than Alaska, Gonz. The earth is a sphere.

There is a really good book by Larry Niven called "Ringworld" (won several awards and is one of the best known SF books ever). The book starts with the main character, Louis Wu, traveling from time zone to time zone (instantaneous travel by then) to make his 100th birthday last more than twenty-four hours.

It sadly looks like you got this right on.
They are saying that theres 50,000+- civilians that didn't evac. :confused:
