Please allow me to take this thread in another direction, if you will.

Should certain people who don't get the idea of contraception, or never want to use if, but prefer abortion be sterilized (Either permanently or semi-permanently) ?

That is to say.

People on their 5th abortion because they couldn't care less
Teenagers that are promiscuous and hate birth-control methods
The Mentally ill - who can't make the decision for themselves
Adults with the IQ of children
Victims of AIDS (In order to reduce the AIDS Babies)
Serious Drug Abusers (Crack, Cocaine, Opium)
People in heavily over-populated areas (China etc...)
other

Give them either a sub-dermal implant that will stop either sperm production or ova production (removeable after X period of time) or tubaligation?

Is this going too far, or not far enough?
Women in certain third world countries have already been encouraged for several years to have free 5 year contrceptive implants... basically to improve their health and that of their children, increase their earning capacity and free them from the tyrany of constant pregnancies year on year. Other forms of contraception are invariably too expensive or are unavailable.

This is a choice however, not compulsory. Compulsory sterilisation was discontinued some time ago for the mentally handicapped and mentally ill under human rights legislation. It was also practiced by Hitlers minions under his eugenics programs...

Of course if you would like to turn back the clock 60 years then I'm sure there are plenty of people who would agree that it is a good idea... I'm not necessarilly one of them. I believe each case should be considered on it's own merits and compulsion is wrong because it affects the human rights of all of us.

I'm pro-choice.

Plain and simple, i'm not a woman, so it's not my choice.

it is thier bodies. I would be really pissed off if someone told what I could and couldn't do with my body.

true but allow me to question you on this. if its your baby would you still support it that way? dont take this as being condescending but instead think of it this way. its also your child so you should have a say. other than that senario i totally agree with you

it doesnt make sense that you think that abortion is good for the first couple of months then it is a sticky subject the rest of the time. what about the child? What about you? have you ever look at the subject that your parents never gave you up for abortion and what not whether you were a baby that was considered with rape or not this is just non sense because a abortion is a sin people will go to hell for killing another life and peopl dont realize it but it is true. About is something that no matter i wouldnt do if i was rape and became pregnant 22 times i still would not allow my child to die because once a sperm and a egg meets that is the child without thought no matter how disfored it may come out. and if i new that my child was going to kill me in the process of me giving birth i would allow that because parents always say i would do anything to help and save my childs life but this shows that if you were a parent you would let them suffer and die as a matter of fact you would be the ones killing them and that is impulsive. I am not a rude person or anything but i am just putting out my opinion on what i tink about abortion no matter the consequence rape it wasnt the childs fault and unpretected sex isnt the childs fault in this case i would tell the mom to keep her ass out of peoples faces and her tits and ass covered and ther legs closed because this part was her fault and she would be going ot hell for her sin.

What the hell is it with the internet that it drives people with absolutely no writing skills, knowledge of what a paragraph is all about...to think that they're making any sense whatsoever.

Umh....Samantha... try again. Take a breath..put your ideas in order... and try to make your point(s). Then..actually stick around to see the replies. That's what places like this are all about.

Point form..back up your ideas, use capital letters puh-lease...

Yup... kiddlets entering the web is almost as bad as when AOL opened up their myriad users onto the internet for the first time!

That's a bit harsh don't you think?

I pasted that post into Microsoft Word in an attempt to edit it into a passable
series of paragraphs but I must admit to having failed in a truly stunning fashion.

We must all pay homage to this feat!

A recent event I found somewhat amusing;
our CPA has a daughter in college finishing her masters
in archeology at NAU. She asked my 17-year-old Son,
who is a senior in high school to “look it over” for
grammar and spelling errors. He wound up nearly re-writing it in toto.

Welcome to a new young female to the board.

Hey Sam, ever had an abortion yet?

(if not, here’s to you not ever having too)
