within context.

"We are Muslims. We love peace, but peace on our terms, peace as laid down by Islam, not the so-called peace of occupiers and dictators."

"Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, God willing. At this time, don't count on us demonstrating restraint or compassion,"

Tale of Compassion

At this time, don't count on us demonstrating restraint or compassion

In which case don't expect any in return. As far as my country goes if they want to have a fight, then lets go camel fuckers. Apologies for the language.

We are Christians. We love peace, but peace on our terms, peace as laid down by the Old Testament, not the so-called peace of agnostics and non- Christians.

Change it around any way you like and it applies to so many in the world today.

Got a point....

Yes though that is a bit sad IMO. Ironically many times this kind of thought process contradicts what the religion had orignally intended. C'est La Vie. Religion causes more problems than it solves anyway

Usually it does, but people in general need something to believe in, and in general they turn to religion.

I wont disagree with that. However it has been known to cause wars and oppression. Also things like 9/11 and the situation in the ME and India are also examples

Gee...how many times have I said this before...Religion is not the problem. PEOPLE are the problem. Even without religion, we'd have the same kind of shit going around, and it's naive to think otherwise. You may now return to bashing religion, as that's all the 'enlightened left' can seem to do lately...

I don't feel that religion is the problem. I believe that organized religion is the problem. It becomes a bloated entity full of corruption like any corporation or government.

And those governments and corporations are headed by?

Couldn't agree more. Religion is not the cause, it's the excuse. I bash religion for other reasons.

Note, however, that from my point of view most of the "enlightened left" you refer to espouse one of the variations of the same religion you espouse.

Hey...that's your religion, I suppose. :D

One more thing...saying and doing are two very seperate and distinct things. Saying you're a Christian, and acting like a thug means that you are only 'espousing' said beliefs, and not living them. Same with saying you're Muslim and lopping peoples heads off because they aren't Muslim. ;)

Dare I say it? People.

Sorry Gato I have felt that religion causes more problems than it solves. It is how I was raised and as I got older I started to see it that way.

Exactly!
Which is why I have issue with people blaming Islam for terrorism by those who claim to be Muslim, but seem to be using that religion as an excuse to do the violence they would've done anyway.
;)

Jumping the gun?
Three near-simultaneous bomb blasts ripped through crowded restaurants on the Indonesia resort island of Bali almost three years to the day of the devastating Bali nightclub bombings that killed 202.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Islam uses a lunar calendar—that is, each month begins with the sighting of the new moon. Because the lunar calendar is about 11 days shorter than the solar calendar used elsewhere, Islamic holidays "move" each year. In 2005 Ramadan will begin on Oct. 5.
