Travel Warnings...

I wonder how complete the list is. Shouldnt Cuba be on there, N.Korea as Rob poined out, S.Korea(I think there are some hostilities there), Russia, et. al?

Nah, not at this time of year. It's deer season you gotta be careful.

Around here Deer season is in the fall.

I thought Georgia and America did not hate each other?

No, it's in deer season that you have to be careful. That's not this time of year.

I thought that was clear.....

Ah, sorry. I was wondering how you went deer hunting in the heat of the summer.

Cuba isn't dangerous at all, but I believe that US citizens are forbidden from going there, perhaps the same applies with North Korea.

It very well could be but I think N.Korea has nukes. Cuba... From what I have been told the people there are very nice and welcoming but the government hates us

Cuba and N Korea are no-fly places, thus no travel warning is necessary. This is for the dangerous places.

Sad that you'd even have to point that out.

Reading through the reasons why one shouldn't
go to those turd-werld cesspools is interesting.

CONGO
Though a U.N. observer force is deployed to a number of locations throughout the country,
unofficial armed groups and active duty troops operating in some parts of the country are responsible for
pillaging, vehicle thefts, carjackings, extra-judicial killings, rapes, kidnappings, ethnic tensions, and continued
military/paramilitary operations.
The large number of rebel and government soldiers to be decommissioned
as a result of the peace process poses another source of potential security concerns.
Travelers may be subject to detention and questioning by ill-disciplined security forces.

Remember that woman who snuck into Afghanistan and had to be rescued? There was a travel restriction for that area at the time. I put that site up in case anybody had any travel plans to any of those continents, so they wouldn't have to be rescued in a like fashion. ;)

Something about that made me laugh. You have a twisted sense of humour dont you

Yeah 'pillaging, vehicle thefts, carjackings,
extra-judicial killings, rapes and kidnappings'
always gets em' rolling in the aisles!

It's just one knee slapper after another in those places!

The way I see it, if somebody says "It's not a good idea to go there because of crimes and kidnappings", and you fail to heed the warning, then you deserve your fate. Unfortunately, the 'nanny' state idealists have been put in charge, and that's one 'military' mission they seem to like. "My poor, dear (insert idiots relationship here) got kidnapped/taken hostage in (insert country on travel warning list here)! Somebody just has to go in and rescue him/her from their terrible fate... :crying4:". The media just laps that stuff up. ;)
