Christmas trees ... we put one up every year. It used to be a fake tree for the longest time (ever since one caught fire 2 days before Xmas when I was 8yrs old and took out the living room while we were visiting family)...

My folx don't put up trees anymore at all. MrsBish and I used my fake tree for the first 3 years and for the last two, used a real tree. This year, a real tree again.

I love the smell of a real tree.
I hate the sap all over the damn place and the bits to sweep up every damn day.

So...? Real tree/fake tree/no tree ?

I spent years fighting fake. They aren't Christmas. Finally broke down one year & bought one (mostly in spite). Year two, momma says "let's get a real tree, it didn't feel the same" :D

I prefer real, and did real ones for years. We did a fake one last year and will this year too. Once we get the fake one pretty much worn out, I imagine we'll go real again.

I actually had my own Christmas tree farm some years back when I was in
the FFA, and won the Chapter Farmer award for it.
I had 50 Blue Spruce (Top of the line) 50 White Spruce, and 200 Virginia Pines.
All the Spruces eventually got sold, but there are still about 50 of the pines there now.
It's all grown up thick now, but beside the farming, the secondary goal was
soil conservation, and that definitely worked.
There used to be a badly rutted hill there, and I terraced it off, and planted the trees.
It's a friggin little forest now. :D

I love real, but because of several factors (moulds/health, mess, expense, transport), have gone with fake the last few years.

It isn't the same, and makes me kinda wistful, but it's what I've done.

Your poll is skewed. Ignoring the fact that I have two houses therefore COULD have two different trees, I DO have two different trees just at the house where I celebrate. We have a real tree in our family room with all the family decorations (ones we made as kids, "Baby's first christmas" etc.) and that is where we get our gifts...we have a fake tree in the living room all decorated in plastic canvas ornaments with my dad's trainset running around under it :)

Plastic canvas ornament:

6'6" fake at home
7" fake at the trailer.
3' fake at the office
27' real at the lake.

You also neglected to add an option for those who chose other than conifers. A friend has said he'll be decorating his ficus. Another has painted birch branches for their tree.

Yes. This little desk top thing. You got a problem with that?

You have a bigger tree at your OFFICE than at your trailer?

I used to have an 1' tree here...now it's about 3'

Real, all the way. Never had a fake tree growing up and I'm not about to start now. Rusty never had a tree growing up so the first year we lived together, we got a small (real) tabletop tree. He liked doing it so much, we've done so every year since.

Always had a real one as a kid, and swore that it would stay that way. Well it did, but after moving to this town, I've gone home to mom's every christmas. that means no tree at home, and a fake one at mom's place.

But it looks alright, and mercy on the soul who interferes while I'm decorating it. That's my job. Mine!
