Look what I caught in the garage!

It's not very big - about 8 inches or so. A little garden snake. :D

We've it in a jar with grass and bugs right now, but I imagine we'll turn it loose tomorrow. :(

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. But I've not held it yet. *hehe* It's too small and just a grass snake. Though it is very attentive and jumpy.

we used to have two red tailed boa constrictor constrictor's. They are at the shop now, fortunately, and not in the house. Smelly bastards. Pic
Dexter was about 8 or so feet when we got him, Dee Dee was about seven or so. They've grown at least a foot and a half by now.

Is he getting enough air in there? Holes punched in a jar lid are enough for bugs, but animals usually need more. Co2 poisoning and such. You're better to cover the openning with cheesecloth and cinch it with a rubber band.

*hehe*

Squiggy - we still have them, just not in the house. They are at the shop and under the care and supervision of Bob, my father in law.

Professur, probably not. But we're probably going to let it go tomorrow. Cute lil' thing, though.

Sharky, *hehe* No name. :( Then I'll just want to keep it.

There's a reptile museum close to where I live and my sister had them come to my nephew's birthday party last year. They brought this huge snake that was bright yellow, it was beautiful. It took for of us to hold it and it didn't feel like what I thought a snake would feel like. It was soft, smooth and warm. As long as I know they're not venemous, I'll hold them but I don't know that I would want one as a pet. The keeping of them in a fishtank and the feeding is the part I'd have a problem with.

Feeding the big snakes (Dex & Dee Dee) are kind of troublesome. I could watch a couple times, but ...
rats scream when they are attacked - a blood curdling scream and I don't handle that very well *hehe*
. I brought the little one to work today, I'm thinking of calling him Fido. :D But I imagine we'll let him loose tonight.

I didn't want too, but I named it "Fido". :( I'm going to try to feed him tonight but we'll probably let him go. The hubby says if I want a snake there's two perfectly good ones at the shop that he'll bring back home. Nevermind those snakes are MONSTERS and I don't want anything taller than me in here (well, they being longer than I am tall). And Fido is sooo cute for a snake.

But, he needs to be free methinks.
