I was gonna get one of those but my brother persuaded me not to 'cos I had the Gerforce 2 MX200 32MB card and apparently there can be problems installing the 440 after having that on your system. I just didn't want the hassle. But I'm glad now that I got the ATI 7500 'cos it's much more stable than the Geforce was as I kept having problems with the drivers.
Wow, I just bought the same EXAXCT card. It seems they are delivering it today. What do you think of it so far? I just got it to throw in a PC I'm building for my mom. I'm not too concerned about games or anything, but guess it would be nice if could perform a little , not that she will ever notice. Someone may want to play games on it though, so I thought this wouldn't be too horrible, and the price was really good. Although, it seems you got a better price than me. i should really try ebay one day!

).Oh. I got my yesterday. Hopefully I will get a chance to try it this weekend. Just got the rest of the system too. Athlon XP 1700+ with biostar M7VIP RTL and 256mb of pc2700. I hope that biostar mobo doesn't cause me problems, but its not gonna be OCed or anything. Its just for my mom so she doesn't even need even the 1700+ or the 440 mx for word processing and whatever else.
what games should I try to test this thing out? I mean the video card. I haven't played any games in years (ok, except Civ III) and thats not too demanding. I wanna send this thing home with her at christmas with a bunch of decent games. I was thinking NOLF II, UT2003, Return to Castle Wolfenstien, things like that. Is there a new NFS after Porsche Unleashed? Maybe new NFS too then. Should this card keep up with these? I'm guessing to should without all the goodies on, but maybe i'm wrong. Army Ops should work pretty good on it, at least I hope so, I run it now on my TNT2 and it isn't even supported by the game. A good one to try on it would be GTA3, that is about the most taxing game I've played in a while. I think Neverwinter Nights is supposed to be a pretty good one too.

And my craptop isn't getting replaced for even longer, so I'm confined to Civ III and ancient games. It is a really fun game, even when you're not trying to win the game, it's fun to just drive around and shoot people, jump your car, just all kinds of fun things to do.
It's sad really, you'd think I could just buy a PS2 and keep the old puter for internet stuff, but I just can't help myself. I've got a Nintendo 64, but still play most of my games on the PC, and leave the N64 for the kids.

I only use it for playing dvds. Strange huh. And to think I would rather build a new system just to play games on the pc. Ok, maybe its cuz I don't like MS though. So I ordered a new video card for me too I went for the Asus mx 440 with DDR instead of another aopen with SDRAM. I got that last one by mistake. I thought it had DDR. Opps. I should have read closer last time. i won't make that mistake twice (or at least I hope I didn't).

I'm quite happy with the one i ordered, but I didn't like what was said over at HWC about it. About it not being much faster than the tnt2 you already have. I hope thats not true, it sure doesn't look like it, but just in case, I made sure to get 333ddr in the second one. Actually, since I'm running a duron 600 with only 256mb of SDRAM it probably wouldn't matter too much which card I was using.
I think the people over at HWC aren't impressed unless you are using a Ti 4600 or a 9700 Pro. Of course then only if you have the 3.06 P4 or the XP2800 to go with it.

Nah, I didn't put a fan on it. Do ya think I should? I have no intentions to try to overclock it. I'm putting it in a system I built for my mom (xp 1700+ ddr333). I dont' plan to try to OC my Asus 440 either when I get it, whats the point on a Duron 600 Besides, I have the dreaded FIC AZ-11 in that, so its not OC'd at all. I dare not attempt it. The it complains about even small increases in the FSB. Maybe its the ghetto cheap sysmax ram I have in it Do they even still make that cheap shit? Probably not!!! Wow, I haven't built a new desktop for myself since the first socket A chips hit the market. Thats seems like a lifetime ago when ya think about it like that!!! I think that justifies something new in a few months. Now I only need to convince my wife. I got her a new digital camcorder for xmas. So maybe I can spin it that we NEED it for video editing I sure hope it can be that easy.
Btw, let me know how you end up with that Aopen card, and what ya think. I tried Castle wolfenstien and Hitman 2 yesterday. Both seemed to be just fine, sorry, I have no idea about frame rates or anything though. I just popped em in to see what a "modern" fps looks like these days.
