Database errors from 12:00am EST to 8:48am

were caused by the corruption of the thread table. I woke up this morning to nearly 200 database error emails, and went to repair the table and redo all post counts, thread counts, last post infos, etc.

No idea what caused it, but a lot of people whose MySQL server had just been upgraded are getting it. Ours was upgraded some time ago, though, not just last night. :confuse3:

Only 200?

Hmmm. think maybe you need to look at the Auto-Emailer then too, cause I'm pretty sure there should be more than that.

Mirlyn was the last to post last night too. I say we all blame it on him. :wink2:

YES!!!! :headbng2:

I don't even remember what I was doing (I think clicking on page two of some thread) and BAM.

190 to be exact.

If anyone notices any anomalies with any threads (of any kind - replies but no views, wrong last poster info, posts rearranged inside the thread) let me know. Apparently this is a bigger problem than a corrupted table, that vBulletin and MySQL 4.0.12 don't get along well and it's possible for more corruption to lead to data loss. :bolt:

*runs a backup*

Yeah, it halted the forum while the backup was running to prevent a corrupted backup.

most important for now is you close your forum from public so you can prevent further corruption of your forum database.

A forum closed to the public. Now that would be a cool idea. :tardbang:

Probably a better idea than a deleted forum open to the public. I think I'll wait around and see though, I've got the backup that I made 15 minutes ago downloaded now. :beerbang:
