xbox plays dvds and has online capabilities as well, also you get 2 games for $199. don't know if ps2 or game cube gives you 2 gaves for thr $149, so if they won't price is about even.. $50 for a game aint horrible. xbox also has greater capability graphix wise, but game selection is weak...

i tried changing icon before associating the files with winamp, but can't find the nifty winamp supplied icon i want.. think it might revert it back to the current one once i make the association anyhow though..

ok i need to change the icon for mp3 files in windows 2k. for all other file types this is an option in Folder Options -> File Types, but I think since I changed the mp3 association to winamp, it gets rid of 'advanced' opion, where you can change icon, and gives me 'restore' instead. any ideas?

when the prof said address I just thought MAC address, in which case I am not limited, and routers can clone to get around this.. IP addy I dunno, probably only one, but router is only hardware with ip assigned from ISP.

screw the nic get a new os.. 98 is horrible with network crap. sometimes you see everything, sometimes nothing, sometimes nothing then 20 minutes later something.

aye.. cpu fan on my xp screans at 6800 rpm (60mm) and is probably the loudest fan around, plan to do 7v mod, slow that sucker down to 4500 maybe. cpu runs at 28-30°C not under load

well I basically did the same thing the other day, out of luck. My router routeinely stops working (it's cheap) and I have to power everything down. I did this and the 3rd comp just started working!

I don't know if they specifiy (router lets me clone the address anyhow to get around any limits), but I tried to connect this 3rd comp directly to the CM, cutting out the router, with no luck.

well, modem is currently hooked up to 2 computers via my router, both of which are working perfectly (98 and XP) on the dhcp server. I guess I'll just wait until I move this box to my other apt. and see if it works on connect leased from university :rolleyes:

so i just installed win 2000 pro on new machine with onboard lan. windows tells me the device is working properly. I plug in my cable modem and all the lights come on.. I disconnect it and windows tells me the cable is unplugged like it should. i run ipconfig and get ip/subnet as 0.0.0.0.. I...

when i changed my signature thingy, it was automatically changed in all my previous posts, not just new ones. I don't like this, perhaps we should poll it to see what the consensus is?
