There's the Event Viewer... That's in Start...Settings...Control Panel...Administrative Tools... Is that what you're looking for?

I just love reading about a problem with a Microsoft product and then seeing "This is by design" at the end. Take a gander:

I wonder if this is what's causing my random reboots :confuse2:

I took a quick look at the article, haven't really studied it yet as I'm at work. If it's related to the BIOS, I'm wondering if an upgrade is due...

I'll look at it closer when I get home from work. :)

It could be...an error occures when XP prevents writing to ports that are used before by the BIOS...as far as i could tell by the article.
XP starts thinking for itself while it shouldn't...either a BIOS update is needed, or perhaps a clean install from windows...

Not the best advice, perhaps others have better ideas :)

bios update or turn off your power saving functions.

Where do I tweak these power saving functions? And my windows is newly installed last week...don't feel like doing it again :(

And this is what those ports are suppose to be: PCI Configuration Space Access

So, anyone have any ideas how I can fix this? And I have no idea what a BIOS is either

lol @ Hex... You should come to work with me one day, it would be pure ecstasy ;)

Anon, I'm sorry, I forgot to come back!!

When you restart your computer, after it shuts off, the first screen that shows up is usually the BIOS. There should be some text there, telling you what the name of the BIOS is (Award, etc.). There also may be a line telling you how to get into it (like 'press DEL to enter BIOS'). First off, we need the BIOS info to tell you how to get an update. If you can actually get into the BIOS by pressing a key, do that and write down the BIOS version information that should be there. Just make sure you don't change anything, that would be bad. :D If you can't figure out how to get into the BIOS, write down the information on that first screen...

Is this a name brand computer? A Dell, Gateway, that kind of thing? I know Dell BIOS require you to press the F2 key...

All I got was "Asus Tuv". I didn't see any line that says press xx key to see BIOS. All I saw was press Del to run setup :(

Turn off computer then turn on the computer and immidiately start tapping 'del'
That gets you to the bios
