I actually can't see it live from home...i have to either go to someone else's house and watch it (in this case, a friend* is throwing a party)..or ask someone to tape it and watch it after it's all over. :P

The commercials..I don't mind watching after the fact.

*Note: this friend is a butch lesbian that I know...biggest damn fan of sports you've ever met.

We don't watch TV...no cable, no satellite...rabbit ears only...and mostly for the news. We use the TV to watch movies, mostly.

The Superbowl isn't catchable via rabbit-ears locally...certainly not the American channels. :(

As for the woman...she's not BIG into football, but she'll come to the Superbowl parties with me and cheer right along.

Hockey on the other hand... don't step in front of the TV. Could be dangerous for your health :)

I usually wait until after game and catch them online,hell,Youtube will probably have them up pretty quick after the fact.

The ADs are usually fantastic, they're the most expensive advertising slots available usually.

and "butch" doesn't necessarily equal "big" I used to work with someone who was very butch but not very big at all...she was actually kinda small.

Grrr... I have to work during the super bowl.

I stupidly agreed with that toolbag friend who smoked in my car to work his 3-8 on sunday because he wanted my 10-3. I was like "whatev" but now I realize that it is the Super Bowl. Whatev, my team lost in the second round, and my new team lost in the first round, and my parents' team lost in the third round, so I'll be fine. Store will be dead, probably get paid to hang out and watch TV anyway.

But to make up for it, I'm gonna see if I can make some bad decisions on Saturday night, so I can at least be like "well I had five more hours to sleep it off"

The buzz here in Chicago is unbelieveable, it wasn't even this frenzied during the MJ title years. I've already got my Super Bowl party set, and it will definitely be raucous. Open bar and buffet during the whole game and what should be a huge celebration afterwards, it can't get any better than that! The only bad thing is the partying's gonna have to be all indoors, it's probably gonna be below 0F outside here by the time the game's over.
