a) i did it with myself this morning...twice, if that counts (i personally count that as a type of sex...
but not since last sunday with somebody else
b) a year or so (with somebody else that is ;) )
c) i suppose i could go for a few months
d) ...but i would go super-psycho without it. as i am super frustrated now and i haven't been with my partner in a week...:s but maybe thats just me

BoP, I hope you get those meds and get better soon! I know that pain, it's worse than people imagine; you can only truly relate when you've been there. I wound up in the hospital last year with it too because I let it go too long; not fun. :(
My doc gave me some advice a while back that seems to have worked for me; I could PM you if you want.

My friend Jenn at work is enough for me. I'm synchronizing with her cycle. She threw me off when she had the baby but she's stablized at the 26th and that's where I'm heading. :D

Thanks for the PM :), I've just eaten 1/4 tub of yoghurt that I had in the fridge, in conjunction with the cranberry juice (I've now drunk 11 litres of the stuff...), plus I've got some akaline sachets for UTIs that I'm drinking as well. If it's still here tomorrow, guess it'll be a trip to the doc.

I'm a Dad. You can't even phase me. On the weekend, I held not one, but two heads over the bowl as they orally redistributed everything they'd eaten for the last month .... what wasn't in my lap. I then slept on the cold, hard floor between the two to ensure they were alright all night. Did I say slept? Not! I then went in to work the next day and pulled a full shift. You..... got ..... nothin'

you know...if you eat the yogurt is has the same effect. My pediatrician in Louisiana used to "prescribe" yougurt for the girls any time they had to take antibiotics, which cause yeast infections.

I've waited (not by choice) until I couldn't sit down because the pain was so bad. There was NO pus.
Urine could be cloudy too, have a different odor, and even blood or other "bits" in it. But the slight burning thing and feeling a greater need to pee than you actually have to is the sure sign.
So yu wait long enough til you're sure there isn't gonna be any pus to know the difference?
Nah, Cranberry is good for prevention and if you think you have one coming on it can help stop it but once you're at the hurts to pee stage I think one should give up and see a doc. I've had a UTI that within 12 hours of the increased frequency of needing to pee I was pretty much in tears cause I was in so much pain...un-fun indeed.

Cranberry juice can be used to flush the infection out if you catch it early enough. This time I went into a bit of denial first, and didn't start the juice diet early enough. *slaps self

I have cranberry capsules. Tried them for the first time this christmass when I thought I felt "something" was up.
And since Prof wanted details/differences: it often starts out with a feeling of "pressure" to the bladder, making one think one really has to pee, but naah. Apparantly you know the feeling. Good. Then comes the burning. Which you also seem to be familiar with. Excellent. Then these two get worse. I guess you..? Ok. Then we add on the knowledge that the women-folks are extra prone to getting UVI's due to the short urinary tract. This generally will lead to the assumption that it's a UVI.
Ok, all these points have already been covered. I'm sure there could be some differences worth mentioning, but since I have never experienced that thing which we won't discuss here, I wouldn't know. :P
