I've been told that really is the way they get castrated. I think it was cows... might be lambs. In any case, some kids I went to school with (middle or high school I think) were making fun of this girl for biting the nuts off one of her animals (she was in FFA or 4H, I forget which) but that's the way it's supposed to be done, it turns out.
