How far have you been to the four geographic points of your own country? Can you name the spots?

North. North Portal, North Dakota. Crossing into Canada. The only place more north would be upper Maine and all of Alaska of course.
East. Somewhere in the eastern part of the western 1/3 of Long Island, New York. Only Greenfreak could tell me where I possibly was. There are many places more east that I can go.
West. LAX Los Angeles International Airport. There are many more places west that I can go.
South. Ka Lae, Hawaii. Whitey calls it South Point. It is THE most southern spot in the US. There were a few other visitors and some fishermen slightly more south than I ... so at one point I was the 5th most southern person in the US. Twas my favortie part of the islands.

Mustabin 12 years ago. Mum and Gran wanted to see the Opry, and the Hall of Fame. I went as a disinterested driver. Noone had reckonned on the heat, tho. Without A/C in the car, driving at night was about the only option. And motel A/C was less than adequate.

Unc... Hawaii is a lot further west than LAX.

As for me...

San Francisco is slightly more west than my neck of the woods, so I'd say that... farthest north is Great Falls, Montana... farthest east and south is Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

I know. I was just trying to give half an out since our local islanders here on the site tend to bristle at being referred to as US territory.

What were you doing up in Portal unc? That place isn't happening. I don't how it is now, but before 9/11 when they closed the border crossing there for the night, they would just put a couple of orange cones in the road. They quit even doing that after a while because the cones were always disrupted in the morning, either tossed to the side or just ran over.

I've been to New Brunswick. Much of the transcanada in New Brunswick is 110km/hr, for that reason I like New Brunswick. I do not like it when I am driving in the wee hours and my mom is asleep and a sudden fog drops though and I have to drive by following the tail lights of the truck ahead of me and when we exit the fog I find out he was half on the shoulder...

I do however find it amusing how the speed goes from 110 to 90 when you cross into quebec...and how my mom thought it only droped to 100 and continued doing 120 (yeah the fog kinda jolted me so when my mom woke up we switched places) and got a ticket for doing 30 over :D
