The turkey is still partially frozen on the bottom. Wife person can't get the gibblets out. Using hot water to try and unfreeze it. That thing has been in the fridge since Sunday. That's five days and it's still partially frozen. I guess we should have bought a lighter bird. This 28 pounder might be too big.
UNFREEZE DAMN IT!

Its already after noon out west. When the heck were you thinking of eating?; midnight? 28 pounds takes a hell of a lot of time to cook... even in metric.

cauliflower
brocolli
gravy
cranberry sauce
(sis's in laws brought)
cole slaw
pickled eggs & beets
2 veggie trays
pumpkin pie
Lemon marang pie
This was the menu at my parents' house:
* 17-pound turkey
* Stuffed pork loin
* Mashed potatoes (made with my handy dandy new potato ricer, an excellent investment)
* Meatball & orzo soup (aka "Chickarina", an I-talian thing)
* Zucchini quiche
* Sweet potatoes
* Orange glazed pound cake
* Double chocolate walnut brownies
* Oatmeal raisin walnut cookies
* Pumpkin pie
I contributed the first three desserts and the mashed potatoes, as well as helped with most everything else. It's just always depressing when 17 hours of backbreaking labor turns into a 45-minute gorgefest followed by another 17 hours of dishcleaning. :disgust2:

Yupper. Got pics of the kids helping roll and cut the dough.
