Literature (Austin, The Brontes, Dickins) Books (Stephen King, Owt cheap from the book shop!)

Just curious, why seperate them? They are the same, reading material. King or Clive Barker (weaveworld) may be a literary genius in 100 years.

Yep, they're all novelisations, CB. Nothing separating the 'cept the test of time. (btw: I'm currently reading Austen's "Emma". :D)

No offense to the title poster, but d'ye like anything that less... box office? ;)

I separate because every God damn charver (British for trailer trash) has a copy of Stephen King in their home... not one would have Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights!

They are different.. one is a respected classic the other is a light non taxing holiday page turner with religious over tones! Sure it may become a classic but at the mo... the two do not compare! People taking an English LITERATURE degree do not study the works of Barbara Cartland etc etc!

I also separate to see who would pick me up on it and Gonz... guess what? Its was you! :D Should have had a bet on at Ladbrooks!

You're right! As they stand and as I said above it is the test of time... but until that time I reserve my judgement as a literary snob! :D

Its the test of time and also your intellectual ability to appreciate the "literature" rather than the "book/story"!!!! which separates the reader and the novel!

Kinda stoopid though, when you read the heroine's commentary in Jane Austen's "Northanger Abbey" with regards to how novels (such as the Austen's own work, and the Bronte sisters) were frowned upon by the elite.

*BoP refuses to buy into that literary snob thing, if it's well written, it's well written*

Your list is so long, and I've seen most of them, so here is a list of movies I have either not seen, never heard of, and/or been meaning to see.

BTW, Phantasm scared me to death when I first saw it when I was a kid. I thought those little balls were going to come after me. Granted, I was in grade school at the time, and I only saw it because I was babysitting across the street and they had cable. Plus, I think it was Phantasm II I saw, never saw the first one or the other sequels.
