NASHVILLE, Jan. 24 -- The school honor roll, a time-honored system for rewarding A students, has become an apparent source of embarrassment for some underachievers.

As a result, all Nashville schools have stopped posting honor rolls, and some are also considering a ban on hanging good work in the hallways -- on the advice of school lawyers.

I'm ashamed to be from here. You know, someone sued Belmont College in Nashville last year because it wasn't clearly explained to them that they could fail if they didn't do the work. :grinno: Seems to me that instead of being concerned with how bad the schools have become they want to make it worse. Don't you wonder how shit like this is supposed to prepare students for real life?

No no, you sue because of the humiliation for not being on it. Then, when you do get on it, you sue for invasion of privacy through the act of the school revealing your academic performace for evereyone to see. They publish those honor roll names in the school paper, you know, so it stretches beyond the confines of the school and into the community. Which gives you a bigger case.

the honour roll shouldnt be taken away. it is for students who are doing very well and should be proud. I never was on it but I always hoped id make it. it is for students who want to do well. and in HS to show off good papers and shit?! what is this elementary school?!
